The Board has decided to make available a small compensation for Ernst Kientsch for his expenses and work. Furthermore he informs that breeder-advertisings become took over from the Barry also into the Internet gratuitously henceforth. He thanks Kari Augestad and Jan van de Belt for the achieved work. He points out again that it is necessary to publish the articles in the Barry in each case in German and English. Furthermore, the Barry should appear regularly to certain dates. In the context, Roland Hans denies severely the rumor that puppies were delivered from Switzerland into Asian countries. The Swiss club appeals to all breeders to test very exactly to whom puppies are handed over.
8. Admission of the Hungarian St. Bernard-Club (Hungaria Szeni-Bernathegyl Klub)
The Hungarian club is represented by a delegation. This introduces the president to the meeting and gives a short overview over the development and the goals. In the context, Wolfgang Ketzler announces, that the previous Hungarian club is no longer member in the WUSB, since an affiliation to the FCI exists no longer.
The delegates vote on the admission of the Hungarian club. This is accepted with 22-Yes as member into the WUSB.
9. Membership-application of the French St. Bernard-Club
The French St. Bernard-Club had already expressed its interest in the last year to become member in the WUSB again. For the meeting in Italy, an apology came from France. In this year, the French club was invited again. Jean Priem sent a translated agenda but got no answer unfortunately. Charles Cuenod has received a letter from France, in which is explained, that a new Board was chosen and that the club has approximately. 400 members. The letter contained also an apology for the present-day meeting.
Wolfgang Ketzler greets the intent of France to become member again, gives however simultaneously to the expression, that he is disappointed, that no delegate has appeared. One votes on the admission:
Vote-result: 17 pros, 3 no-votes, 4 abstentions
The following items went through together:
13. Award of the WUSB-Show 2003 15. This item was cancelled. Since the previous Hungarian club cannot organize the show (lacking membership in the FCI) this item is not applicable.
Wolfgang Ketzler informs the meeting about the correspondence in this issue. As it was certain, that Hungary cannot be organizer of the WUSB 2002, W. Ketzler has. has written to the clubs that had reached the next-higher score with the vote in Italy. He wrote to the clubs in the Czech republic and Belgium. Wolfgang Ketzler proposes to forgive the WUSB-Schau 2002 to the Czech republic.
The new admitted Hungarian club also applies for the WUSB-Show 2002. A delegate from Hungaries gives a short overview over the situation in Hungary.
Wolfgang Ketzler as a result let vote on the award of the WUSB-Show 2002. Vote-result: the Czech republic = 21 votes, Hungaries = 3 votes. The WUSB-Show is given 2002 to the Czech republic.

Mrs. Lautenschläger does the suggestion to connect a second show with the WUSB-Show. In this context Wolfgang Ketzler informs that the Board has decided that the WUSB-weekend should be exclusively for the WUSB and no other show should take place. The delegates agree with it. Substitute-judges are: Hermann Evers (G2), Josef van Hummelen (B) Judges-chairman: Otakar Vondrous (Cz)
Because of the brevity of the time standing to the disposal the remaining items are discussed summarizing.
A discussion begun about the purpose and the previous success of the forum. The president of the German club Peter Brieskorn gives a report over the reasons from which the forum came into being. The first goal, collecting of data for the breeding-esteem, is almost succeeded. The cooperation with Switzerland and Denmark is successful. With Italy, it gives some couples of difficult, because the umbrella organization doesn't stand behind the matter.
All data are stored and processed in the TG-Verlag in Gießen. Until now, one registered HD, ED, skin, eye-lid and tenseness of the skin. Question is, whether also the nature shall be integrated. At the moment in Germany one draws up a nature-test, that is enforced with the breeding-license-test. Primarily the public should be demonstrated, that the clubs do something. Before the Government makes by direction a force, we must begin.
Then, Peter Brieskorn gives to the meeting another last piece of information over the course of the event. A parade with approximately. 90 St. Bernards through Lichtenfels should demonstrate to the public, that our dogs show no problems.
The remaining agenda-items are postponed till the next year because of the missing time.
Wolfgang Ketzler thanks the delegates and guests for the good cooperation and wishes all another beautiful weekend and much success with the show.

1. Greeting by the WUSB-President Wolfgang Ketzler The WUSB-President, Mister Wolfgang Ketzler, opens the session and greets the present judges and guests. He introduces the simultaneous-translation, which is liked by the English speaking participants.
2. Greeting-word of the president of the St. Bernhards-Klub Peter Brieskorn Peter Brieskorn greets the judges from the different countries. He gives a short overview over the course of the events and appeals to the judges to put the function of the dogs with their evaluations into the foreground.
3. Minutes of the last judges-meeting in Bagnara No objections are raised against the minutesl of the last judges-meeting in Bagnara/Italy.
4. Information from the member countries 5. Current stand of the standard-discussion Both items were discussed together. Dr. Martin König reports on the suggestions of the Switzerland to the standard-commission. The Swiss St. Bernard-Club underlines the following points: The upper arm is only little longer than the shoulder blade. 10 dogs were measured. These dogs showed 15 to 20% longer upper arms opposite the shoulder blade. Following six insignias must be white: breast, paws, rod-top, nose-band. Blaze, neck-stain. One desires a white collar and a symmetrical dark mask. Faulty insignias are regarded as mistakes. It turns out an active discussion about the colors and insignias of the St. Bernards. The judges come to the result that can be seen show and breeding separately respecting the neck-stain. With absence of the neck-stain, the dog can receive a VG. In countries with breeding license, this dog are cancelled from breeding. Reinhold Welsch thinks that this problem is not relevant. It is there still many white with our dogs and there are rarely dogs without neck-stain. Also the mating Shorthair / Longhair is discussed severely, with which the opinions go strongly apart. Peter Brieskorn reports on the dogs in the nature-historic museum in Bern. One must be aware of it which things one would like to reach. Health consequences would be accepted according to head-form of the dogs. The goal should be to be found an unit in all countries. Another topic was the Chippen of the dogs, that is stipulated by different countries. One discusses the expenses. Dr. King reports from Switzerland, that the Transponder costs approximately 10 SFr and the Chippen 14 SFr, therefore altogether 24 SFr. The dogs should be 20 months with the official selection for breeding. Furthermore Dr. King informs, that the "intube?" is prohibited with narcoses of our dogs. It should be kept an eye on it. The topic " judges-meetings " is spoken to by Carl-Otto Mastrup. He complains that always the time too barely is allocated and no possibilities exist to a right discussion. He does the suggestion to separate the judges-meetings and the other WUSB-meetings, so that again can be discussed more intensively over all problems. Wolfgang Ketzler explains that this was got rid of because of the wide arrivals (z.B. from USA) and the expenses. He proposes to take in the judges-meeting in the next year again themselves from more time to also discussing of dogs, and only to adjudicate after it, whether a separated judges-meeting is necessary and meaningful. One agrees to him. Werner Schmid is of the opinion, that always much would be discussed, but the results would not be moved. Wolfgang Ketzler thanks the judges for the contributions and emphasizes again, that it is important to find an unit.
6. Judge from St. Bernards (management: Reinhold Welsch) Reinhold Welsch had invited several dog-owners with their St. Bernards. The dogs were presented to the judges on the outside-terrain. The meeting was continued after it in the meeting-room and all judges had the chance to judge the dogs extensively and to discuss.
Wolfgang Ketzler thanks the judges for the active attendance and the interesting discussions and closes the meeting. (Erika Kalscheuer) 1. Secretary |
